I said I would start doing it again and I guess today is as good as any other. I am talking about blogging. You see, I used to blog quite a bit a year or so ago on MySpace. I had to give that up because I felt the site was just crazy. Now I am on Facebook and Twitter and I feel I have more control over the madness hat is social networking.
As I write this blog I am sitting in Panera bread waiting for a health insurance appointment. My client is running late so I decided to make a few calls on Skype. I have decided that there is too much background noise so this is as good a time as any to blog.
If you follow me on Twitter, you will notice I posted a comment about referral business. I am having problems getting return referrals. My natural assumption is that my network does not take me seriously. So what can I do to fix that? To be honest my first response was, I will show them… no more referrals from me. You see my network is primarily made up of successful people. I mean these guys have been in the business longer than a minute. On the business food chain they are sharks and in comparison I am like zooplankton. My business has been going since August and needless to say in these economic times people are just scared. I will write about that in another blog.
So I am faced with this decision, find other new business owners and form an alliance with them or continue to stay the course. If you followed me on MySpace you will remember the point of most of my blogs was biblical principles in everyday life. I plan to continue this theme with the new stuff. So I back to the dilemma. I think I will continue to refer business to them, even those that are bad about returning calls. Although I don’t look at these folks as enemies, this scripture is stuck in my head;
Proverbs 25:21-22
21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
22 For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the LORD will reward you.
I figure if I keep showing God’s light and treating them as I would want to be treated then I am doing what is required. Well I see my appointment is pulling up. Gotta go do the work thing. And remember if you are in Oklahoma, and you need life, health, or other insurance products I would love to talk to you.
Be blessed,
Al

Sweet! I get to be the first commenter. Glad you are blogging.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. Luke 6:27-36 came up at group this week. Loving those who mistreat you is so counter to our human nature. It is only through Christ that we are able to do this.
Good reminder.
